[ARCHIVED] Be the U In OB Meeting - Civic Participation Campaign October 20

FINAL U in OB BLUE Bandstand_graphic-page-001

Ever wonder how local government works?  Ever wonder how town decisions get made?  Ever wonder how your tax dollars are spent?  Ever wonder how transparent is your local government? Ever wonder how you can contribute to creative problem solving in government?,  Ever wonder how you can influence public policy for the better?, Ever wonder how there is an economic benefit to being engaged in local government?  Ever wonder if you can make a difference in your community but did not know where to start?

If you have ever asked the above questions or if not, please join the Town of Oak Bluffs and the League of Women Voters in sponsoring

“Put the U in Oak Bluffs Public Forum” on Saturday October 20th from 10:00 – 12:00 at the Oak Bluffs Public Library.     Come learn why your town needs you !!

In the face of today’s politically charged, divisive, and polarizing atmosphere in national politics, the Town of Oak Bluffs is proud to kick off its Civic Participation Campaign – Put the U in Oak Bluffs.

The Public Forum will include discussions on key economic development issues facing our town such as Water Quality, Affordable Housing, Climate Change, Transportation, and Capitol Planning & Finance.

The Forum will feature a panel of local residents who will discuss each topic while providing examples of town success stories with an eye to highlighting the importance of civic participation, creative problem solving, teamwork, and the economic benefit of having an engaged citizenry.
