ARPA Septic Grant Information

The County has allocated $315,000 for the Town of Oak Bluffs portion of the ARPA nitrogen-reducing septic system grant program. Grant funding under this program is available in two segments: for enhanced I/A system design costs and for enhanced I/A system installation costs. Grant funding will only be awarded for system designs with no increase in the number of bedrooms/wastewater flow. The Oak Bluffs Board of Health will limit funding for individual properties to $40,000 total.

Funding under this grant is limited to homeowners with an aggregate income not exceeding 240% of the County's Area Median Income (AMI), adjusted for household size. If approved for the program, grant funding will reimburse actual expenses paid by the homeowner up to a maximum of $40,000. Homeowners with an aggregate income below 80% of the AMI for the County, adjusted for household size, may request direct payment to vendors rather than reimbursement for costs incurred. Please refer to exhibit A of the grant application for income levels. Grant applications will be prioritized based on the applicant's income and the property's proximity to the ponds.  Applications will be accepted until November 1, 2023.  Applicants will be notified regarding the acceptance or rejection of their application via email.  The timeframe for submitting applications may be extended if there are not enough qualifying applicants by November 1, 2023.

Additional information on the funding and an application for the septic design portion of the grant can be found on the County's website at ARPA Funding Informational Page | Dukes County MA. Completed applications should be submitted to:
